7. Earth

But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8

Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. Genesis 2:7

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you. Psalm 139:17-18

In the face of a supremely majestic, all powerful God, we are so small, so insignificant. We are but sand, dust, clay. But he took the earthly material and gave it life. He endows us with value because of his love and his crafting of us. We are the clay in the hands of the potter. We are the dust given life by the breath of God.

What does it mean for you to surrender to the potter today?

God in humility we acknowledge your greatness. We are in awe of you. We are astonished that you love us and make something out of us. We surrender to more of your crafting of us. We surrender to being the work of your hands. We invite you to breath on us and give us the fullness of your life.
